Judgement of Vinings Blind Tasting
Judgement of Vinings Blind Tasting (an homage to the Judgement of Paris) - 7/3
We thought the eve of Independence Day would be a great time to host our version of the Judgement of Paris! In 1976 a British wine merchant tried to embarrass American during our bicentennial by hosting a wine tasting in France that pitted California Chardonnay vs. White Burgundy and California Cabernet Sauvignon vs. Bordeaux. The tasting panel, who tasted blind, was made up of French wine experts. Much to the chagrin, they chose California wines for BOTH the Chardonnay and Cabernet categories. Obviously embarrassed, they critics said that everyone knows French wines age better so they did the tasting over again 10 years later (with just the reds), and once again, California prevailed! It'a great story (you can watch the movie Bottle Shock for a light-hearted reenactment), and we're excited to do our version: The Judgement of Vinings!
This will be a blind tasting, and you will be asked to score each of the wines against each other. In the end, we'll tally up the votes to see who wins The Judgment of Vinings!
This was a fantastic event last time we did it so don't miss out! We're charging a little more than normal, but we're going to taste some amazing wines so it will be worth it. America vs. France, who will prevail??!!
